“RoomMate Emir: A hidden gem in Istanbul”

It of course all comes down to personal preference but when traveling I always try to avoid staying at the bigger chain hotels. I feel they lack charm, personalized service and the “feeling of home”.

I’m constantly in the search of unique boutique hotels, that can offer something different, a more intimate and distinctive service, and a place that somehow stands out.

During my trip to Istanbul, I stayed at RoomMate Emir, a truly hidden gem in the heart of the city. I was already familiar with the RoomMate boutique hotels, and knew that their concept is all about design and warm hospitality. The RoomMate Emir by all means lived to their vision and to my expectations.

The beauty of the design, the exceptional colors and distinctive space astonished me.

The hotel is located right in the middle of everything but still tucked away on a quite street, 100m from Istiklal Street and 10 min from Taksim square. You are steps away from shops, restaurants, bars and much more.

The design was the most impressive aspect of this hotel. Famous designer Lázaro Rosa Violán designed the interior. He created a perfect blend of modern furniture with beautiful colors and style. The elegance of the furniture, the design of the space, the common library, everything put together makes this place picture perfect.

The staff was extremely helpful and wonderful! They always greeted me with a smile and made sure that I was enjoying my stay. Even after having some issues with my taxi driver, Kasim from the front desk made sure that my case was addressed.

If you are opting for that home-away-from-home experience in my opinion boutique hotels will offer you that. And if you are heading to Istanbul definitely go for RoomMate Emir, which was full of personality and distinctive architectural features.
